iTero 3D Scanner
The technology and science of dentistry are progressing all the time and our aim is to keep up to date so our patients benefit from technological advances. We use a 3D intra-oral scanner to eliminate the use of old fashioned uncomfortable impression materials to create an ‘impression’ of your mouth.
It provides a much more accurate replica for the dental technician to work with and, in our experience, leads to a better fit of replacement teeth such as crowns, bridges, etc. The patient also finds the experience a lot more comfortable.
Invisalign clear aligners are one of the most popular teeth-straightening aids used today as they’re effective, removable, and virtually undetectable.
Your dentist can scan your mouth with the iTero intraoral scanner, then show you how your Invisalign treatment will look with an Invisalign outcome simulation.
The scanner is held in the patient’s mouth for approximately 10 minutes to take pictures, which are then digitally stitched together to create a scan and allows the patient to see their mouth in 3D. A treatment plan can be made up from this.
A full mouth scan can be done in as little as 10 minutes.
No. Normal usage of the intraoral scanner does not present any danger to the human eye and no ionizing radiation (X-Ray) is emitted.
